Country Jam |
Boy, what a surprise! This group didn't get on until 10:45, and they kept the crowd 'till after 12:00. They are made up from pieces of different groups, some of whom had never played with each other until Friday night, any they put it all together like the pros they are. The story is, they decided what they'd call themselves when they took the Hwy 5 exit off I-85 and saw the road sign that says "Kings Creek." That's the way we do it down at "The Jam." These folks come to us from Union, Belton, Spartanburg, and Belmont. They are: Jeff Barnett :Bass and Vocals Nan Harvell: Guitar and Vocals Mark Harvell: Banjo and Vocals Denise O'Shields: Guitar and Vocals Monroe Smith: Guitar and Vocals Richard Pruitt: Fiddle and Vocals Chris Messer: Mandolin If you don't listen to any other track on this site, you've just got to hear the a'cappella rendition of Beulah Land by Denise O'Shields. But do yourself a favor and listen to them all. This is some of the best music we have had. Keep in mind that all of these tracks are cut live and unedited. For those who did leave before this group came out, all I can say is, "You should'a been there."
