Country Jam |
Folks, if you're looking for a winner, well we've got one here. Our friend David Wright from Pacolet has done an outstanding job of putting together some of the best groups we have had the pleasure of here at Country Jam. The tracks we have accompanying were made over a three night period but unfortunately, because some dummy forgot the camera (guess who), we only have pictures of the second and third night. However, I will do my best to remember the players and get their picture posted later. On the first night we were graced with Kathy Strickland, singing some of the prettiest lead you have ever heard and playing the mandolin, along with her husband Bo playing bass. Check out "Love to be in the Mountains" and you'll see what I mean. They were joined with "Hank" Owensby, who also sang some of the country classics and played guitar. On the second night David and "Hank" were joined up with George Hyden on banjo and Donnie Camp on bass. Of course David filled the bill on both nights by singing lead and playing some mighty fine lead acoustic guitar. For some of the finest entertainment we have had at the "Jam" click on the accompanying tracks; and whatever you do, don't miss the "Rooster Song". We were able to produce a rubber chicken about half-way through that really made a hit. Listen closely and you will hear David's surprise when we lay it on him.
