Country Jam |
Let me be the first to introduce you to the Bluegrass Tarheels, and what a pleasure it is. If you're looking for some of the best in the original Bluegrass, these fellows certainly will not let you down. The lead singer and guitar picker of this group, Mr. James Randolph, has been in the Bluegrass business for years and has shared the stage with the biggest names in the business. One listen to his renditions and you'll know immediately that you're listening to the real McCoy. Not to mention James has written some fine tunes, one of which is in our selection, Do Unto Others. Not to mention Danny Owens on Mandolin, who has also picked with the finest as you will hear when James introduces the group. You're gonna love the job this young man does. I might also mention that their banjo picker, Jonathan Anderson, might be considered a "new-comer" to the business, but you won't be able to tell it by his picking. This young man can hang with the best of them. While I'm at it, I guess I need to brag a little on their fiddle picker, Josh Green, who has delighted our crowds on several occasions, and who most of the crowd at The Jam consider to be the best fiddle player to ever grace us. I've come to know Josh in the short time we've been operating and I can say I hope to listen to him for years to come. That brings me to my favorite instrument, the dog house bass. They are privileged to have Mr. David Wilbeck tugging on that thing for them, and that he does. David is a high energy player who keeps those Bluegrass progressions moving through the songs with a snap that will keep you tapping your toes. These fellows come to us from up around the Charlotte area and have a classic Bluegrass sound that will be worth your effort to check out anytime they are in your area. Or better yet, make it a point to get down to The Jam and you might get a chance to hear them first hand. Until then, select some your favorites from the list on the left and enjoy some of the best in Bluegrass music. Those of you with broadband might want to select the Entire Show to get the full presentation these fellows deliver.
